Aderans Research Institute (ARI) has purchased technology assets from Regenerative Medicine Assets Limited (formerly Intercytex Group plc), a UK based hair regeneration research company.
“This acquisition is a major step forward for ARI,” said Vern Liebmann, Vice President of Operations. “Through this deal, we’ve been able to consolidate the majority of key patents and know-how in the hair regeneration field, an achievement that can accelerate our ability to deliver a commercially viable product to market. This acquisition was only possible thanks to the considerable financial support of Aderans Holdings Company, Ltd., of Japan.”
Aderans is a publicly held company and one of the world’s largest manufacturers of wigs. Aderans owns Bosley hair restoration, a widely known chain of hair restoration clinics. Aderans Research Institute studies the development of cell based hair restoration therapy, referred to as hair multiplication.
The purchase of InterCytex by ARI comes at a time when ARI is about to start phase 2 of research into cell-based hair regeneration.
